I've bought two Acer ones for people and their very nice monitors. Generally most tfts use only a few different tube things (or whatever their called- like loads of graphics cards use the same nVidia chips kind of thing)

If you can afford it, I suggest getting an Apple LCD monitor. They are absolutelly the best LCD's I've ever used.

I personally have a 20" widescreen one. Absolutelly fabulous.

:icon14: From what I've seen in stores they are amazing. I have no reason to move to LCD but if I ever had the cash I would so buy that 30" model.

What is the response time on that trash, 30ms? They say 16, but it performs as 30. Plus you need a special video card.

There is a Samsung display that destroys it. 24 inches, 25ms response time, same price range, and works with everything.

Isn't OLED the coolest? Literally, since it has the least power consumption of all full color displays... Primarily due to the fact that it doesn't use a backlight. I can't wait.

30 inch displays for $1000? See you there.

1) Never believe manufacturers' response time claims. I have yet to see any ghosting.
2) My monitor has 230400 pixels, and all of them work.

We have 5 Samsungs at work and I have one at home, and there's not a single dead pixel on any of them.

Exactly.

Why buy an LCD screen when in thirty months you can buy an OLED screen that will perform better and be cheaper as well?
