High Intensity Interval Training
Good intro:
http://www.musclemedia.com/training/hiit.asp
Here is a study on the issue:
http://etd-submit.etsu.edu/etd/theses/a ... ng0417.pdf
combine that with a good sleep schedule, healthy diet that's not too high in calories, and an overall active lifestyle.

yep. "eating less" definitely reeks of amateurism.

you need to be eating better, not necessarily less. if you're eating the same crap that got you ballooned in the first place, but less of it, you'll be bingeing soon, then you'll quit excercising, gain even MORE weight back, and wind up heavier than when you started.
i give you props for the weightloss, but make it a permanent change in health and don't "diet", change your eating habits.

BUT you
will lose muscle too. So its either buff and fat or fit and twiggy, unless you do cardio.

Cardio isnt required, ask Coleman, you dont see him running around skipping rope or doing pilates. Atleast i hope not.

High protein low carbs have LONG been used as a means of cutting fat quick by bodybuilders, way before Atkins gave the diet his own name.
Do your cardio in the morning.
And I don't see why TB says that you will lose muscle UNLESS you do cardio. You lose muscle every time you lose weight - it is inevitable. They key is minimizing muscle loss - keep your protein up so that your body doesn't break as much muscle down.
In reality it is a simple notion - either cut your calories, or burn more calories, or both. Once you do this, you need to make sure the calories you are getting supply you with enough protein.

Sure, if you just want to cut some quick pounds. But that doesn't address sculpting and shaping the body.
If you REALLY want permanent change, you increase your lean muscle mass so your resting metabolic rate goes up.

those are some good points i can agree with.
try and lose it gradually don, that way you'll lose less of your muscle.
eat really really clean.
its much easeir for your body to dismantel basic core foods,
it'll leave your body less tired and with more energy because of the lessend load and hassle.

But don't you need carbs to support your muscles? At least that's what I read in a bodybuilding article.

Yes, carbs are also important. But if your body is lacking in necessary amino acids, its going to break down muscle to get them...
Again, you are going to lose some muscle ANYTIME you lean out, regardless of your diet.
Some amino acids will be converted to glucose if carbs are needed, so protein can provide the carb support as well...
But amino acid metabolism is a bit complicated to get into here. Take a look at the glucose-alanine cycle to see what I mean...
actually here -
So, the answer to your question is yes, but not how you think...
or something to that effect.

good assumptions but no cookie for you. I've made drastic changes in diet, and going to a high-protein vegetarian diet is probably the single most helpful factor actually.
all you posted was that you were eating less. what other assumption could be made? none.

You need to go on a hypocaloric diet if you want to lose weight.
which means eating less calories.
That's pretty fundamental from my understanding.

If only I had an even slightest idea of what that diagram means.

hypocaloric diets are great for getting rid of pounds in a short term, but i couldn't see being on a hypocaloric diet for the rest of my days.
