Media Players for windows (mostly MP3)

I've been Using Windows media player 9 and now 10 since winamp 3.0 came out I didn't like how sluggish Winam 3 was so I went back to M$
It's hanging for about 5 - 10 seconds on all my PCs when I start playing an MP3 which is annoying because I can't adjust the volume, or shrink it down. I killed all the visualizations, but it still hangs.
Any suggestions for a good media player that will shrink down to the taskbar or have a really sleek player that can fit in the windows title bar so it can be always on top of all the windows?

Foobar is the only mp3 player I can stand to use. It is small and compact, it also has great plugin support.

i use this also, but haven't found an "alarm clock" plugin for it yet, or i'd use it exclusively.

Winamp 5
and if it's sluggish perhaps you should get a real computer.

I just downloaded that Foobar to check it out, and that thing is stripped down real nice. None of that flashy shit going on. Anyone know if there is a MAD input plug in for this?

that's quite the

statement.
i have a 900mhz PC with 512mb of ram with Winamp 5 and it runs great. i'm sure it's probably the slowest one here.

No After that piece of poopie Winamp 3 AFAIK I don't think I ever went back.
I forgot about XMPayer, it's an application I use on my USB Drive, allong with portable Firefox. It allows me to play m MP3 files from any computer without having to install a player. I plug in the drive and just run the EXE. It's got a ton of features I'll prolly not be using but it's does exactly what I want. It's slim and only uses 2,632 K of resources. :icon14: It's got great audio reproduction I think I'll stick with this...

yeah, 3 was so bad, that it bordered on ridiculous. 5 has the skinability of 3, with the stability of 2xx

Media Player Classic/Zoom Player Pro (shareware)/VLC (VideoLAN Client)/BSplayer Pro (shareware)
Not in any particular order, but from using these I've found them to perform quite nicely. Also, they are usually rated quite high on software download sites (like betanews.com).
