For me it's not about age but about how well I am.
If I need a nurse to wipe my own butt I'd rather get a shot.

I always wondering in how much you actually suffer from Alzheimers though .. perhaps since you keep forgetting everything almost instantly your world becomes one of rozy ignorance and bliss... But then again it would be not so good to actually be aware of forgetting everything instantly - that'd be near torture.

i have a great aunt with it, and it's not a walk in the park. huge mood swings (seconds after laughing along. she says -- "I want to go home, NOW."), confusion (where the fuck am i?), not being able to understand why people react to you wierd when you ask questions, not remembering things (try to remember something, the answer is *just* out of reach in your mind, you can't grasp it), constantly being told you're wrong (screwing up names to faces, etc)

Well it's not like you're a zombie just staring into the blank. Like glossy said, it's pretty bad. I've heard stories of people actually becoming extremely paranoid because they think people stole their things simply because they can't remember where they put it and thus can't find it back. I think it's horrible to be demented.

My Grandad was diagnosed with Senile dementia a few months back, whats kinda scary for him is that he is all too aware that he's losing it. He's even been prescribed Anti-Depressants because of it.
He's been a very very active man all of his life so this has hit him like a ton of bricks, both physically because he can't do the things he used to do and mentally because he wants to go out and do them.
He's 82, but he still has a drive that makes him want to go on.
To me, he's still a cool Grandad.
Edit: I put Alzheimers O.o

well it was my 2 aunties and my nan had it (although she died at the very early stages of it)
my aunts were completely bonkers though, shed be calling me shaun and chatting about shit which happened 50 yrs ago like it was present day :icon28: and then she would go around for random walks and come back with a spoon for no reason
if i ever went like that then i would want to die

I'm pretty sure that all these opinions (maybe except losCHUNKs) depend on your current age.
Nobody - I mean nobody - wants to die at 30 or 40.

To answer your initial question, I have no idea when would be a good time for me to pass on.
Simply because I've not fully lived my life enough yet to make that decision.

What I'm saying is, if you ever had one of your family die at such a young age, you're cured, trust me.

you'll change that train of thought just as you will about your binge drinking once you get a career after school.

:icon27: Many people say that life begins at 40. You have enough experience to not be a moron anymore and (usually) have established yourself.
mrjpes is right though, the above statement clearly illustrates your age.
