Dave Navaro is actually a pretty good guitar player.
However, his sudden 'stardom' is due to having a liaison with Carmen Electra (she told me the other night), so that makes him a little gay in guitarplayer-terms.

the guy wears (wore) fishnet stockings, for crying out loud. doesn't matter, he was terrible choice for the empty Chile's spot. his work with Janes Addiction and his solo album are ace though.

Yea, he was great with Jane's Addiction, but he was a shit match for the Chili Peppers. Their sound didn't need his angsty stuff.

Holy crap I was unfortunate enough to watch about 2 performances on this show tonight. The dude that hung himself (Hutchins isn't it?) must be flopping around in his grave right now...

Christ...it's so bad it could turn me into a suicidal blonde. ahahahahahahahah. hmmm...

edit - ok, to be fair, a couple of the later performances were better. I guess it is more accurate to say there seems to be a big range of talent in this thing...but their old lead singer is probably still flopping around in the grave.

How could a band expect to maintain any credibility after a show like this?
