The IOC will consider replacing them with two sports from a waiting list of five: golf, rugby, squash, karate and roller sports. That decision will be made Saturday.

Baseball and softball are the first sports cut from the Olympics since water polo in 1936.
i'm glad they ditched baseball and softball. peeps around the US are bitching about "lashing back at America". please. only a couple of other countries even PLAY softball. owning Australia in softball is no big deal.

Definitely Rugby. It's a toss-up between golf and karate on the other one...

I say squash and rugby.

As interesting as it would be to see golf in the olympics, I dont think it really belongs in there.

I would say karate and rugby but I saw Judo and what was it...Tae Kwan Do in the last olympics and I was shocked--it was really boring as hell.

If you didn't see the events, picture two boxers putting their wait on each other and making slight punches at the other. It was kind of like that, except spread a bit more apart and with kicks. It was chaotic and dull. I'm sure if you were an expert in the sport it would be interesting to see, but eh.

I wouldn't mind watching a kung fu event that was a tad like American Gladiators (but without the gayness and A LOT more classiness). The kung fu (or Karate, Judo, etc...) would add discipline and fluidity. And the Gladiators aspect would make it fun for the audience.
