I just got an interview with a local company that works within the video game industry. Now I've never had this type of an interview but it's a job I want quite badly. I need to fill out a questionnaire and have it ready for the time of the interview. I guess my point is do you guys have any pointers? I should mention that the position is for that of a research analyst and that they were interested in my thesis work in university.

tell m about your history in gaming (how it has always been more than a hobby), how you can constructively critisize current and upcoming games, and dont forget to mention any mapping and/or texturing you might have done, be it for your own interest or commercial products

its quite hard to get a foot in the door of the gamingbiz. i had one and i lost it, and that fucking sucks :D

Same here but it was mainly to my incredible intellect not because I failed at talent.

.. at least that's what I cry myself to bed with... :(

Fucking hell, I'd forgotten he was working on something. Although he PM'd me to say that he's being headhunted for the Duke Nukem Forever team....

Frankly, I'm pretty sure I'm under-qualified for this job but I hope I at least have a fighting chance. They're involved with intellectual property rights around video games and such. My anthropological focus is geared towards the way they do business so I hope it works out.

So you'll be helping to crush smaller games companies because they had a few of the same obvious ideas your company's game has, huh?

Sounds evil.

Good luck. Two of our level designers started here on a thesis study for uni....and they've been given well-deserved, fully paid positions.

What exactly are you gonna do there? Anything creative?
