the exile site is pretty good - go through the war nerd archives - might find some examples that you can then do further research on.

The world is a safer place overall. There are less wars, they are less brutal, and they cause less indirect suffering.

The Iraq war alone hasn't changed that trend.

I think it would be a positive step to compile a list in some sort of effort to get people to wake the fuck up about current world events. I meet quite a few people here in the Southeast US who are in serious fucking la-la land about world events, and I'd love to send them to a page full of info about just how exactly fucked up our world has become as some sort of sobering effort.

I'm also attempting to write a fairly dark story centered around bringing more light to these situations and all the research I can gather would provide me with supporting material for details within said story.

For starters I've already bookmarked Jules' Congo story and I'm looking for more. If anyone knows of any site that provides an interactive map of the world showing whats typical in areas of hardship that would be great as well.

Thanks
