Remote PC Access

What's a program I could use to access my computer from another computer on the same network? Without installing anything on the computer I'm trying to access?
If running Windows XP Pro - Enable Remote Desktop then run the RD client from c:\program files\remote desktop\ and use it to connect.
On Home, you can enable remote assistance but I dunno how easy it is to get using.
Failing that, you can install VNC on the machine you want to look at, and take the VNC client with you on a pendrive.
