This game...
Has its moments, but too much of it is spent wandering aimlessly with no real direction, no clear objectives, and some truly annoying platforming with godawful camera work.
And, according to the walkthrough I just checked, I'm in chapter 3 of 9 already...all this time I was thinking that everything I was doing had to be all the tutorial, because the "fun" that I was so eagerly awaiting had yet to start.
Who was it here that was going on about this game like it was the greatest thing since sliced bread? I laughed, a lot, at some of the stuff, but man....a disappointment thus far. Don't know that I can take much more of it either.
Anyone tried multiplayer on it?

How is it great? I mean, I see great potential, but its so flawed in its execution...and many parts just are not fun. For example - trying to get the pitchfork guy to jab all the bales of hay. That is something that, with decent controls, should be a relatively easy matter of setting up the attack, and then dodging quickly. Instead, you are jumping around like a fucking idiot, with a camera that keeps 'helping' you by swinging around, and the entire thing really ends up being a skill-less clusterfuck.

was easy to me.. then again i played the N64 version, and honestly, the controls are 100X better on the xbox..
You do know you can manually change the camera.. right?

Yes, I know that. But my complaint isn't that the level is too hard - rather that I was able to do it by doing nothing but jumping around randomly (the skill-less clusterfuck).
I think Oddworld:Stranger's Wrath was a much, much better platformer.

Its because your used to the "push button over and over and get same result instantly" kind of games.. Conkers is all timing..

NO offence taken or anything man
I thought TNF was reffering to this:

Yea, I guess I don't have the reflexes required for a game like this.

Or perhaps, just perhaps, that some of the tasks are just lame. And I stand by that. Not all of them, but some. And, funny you should mention "push this button and get the same result instantly" bit as being a bad thing. Especially since so far, I've done nothing but "pull right trigger to hit the bad guy who shoots spikes out of his body then hit the A button real quick to jump back before he does" Repeat. But at least that bit feels like you are accomplishing something. The hay level (although it is just one spot) gives you none of that feel.

Quick tip.. when attacking those, just run at them at an angle, then swing and as you swing run backwards.. repeat in a circle motion..
maybe your expecting it to be more action packed.. the end IS action packed, but the BULK of the game is one giant puzzle with small amounts of clues

i'd just like to say that even though i have no interest in console gaming (the last console i owned was an NES about 14 years ago), nor even touched a playstation or xbox, I found this thread to be quite interesting.
Soapboy you defended the game beautifully.
It was like witnessing a graceful dance between the two of you - efficient dialectic - new understandings synthesized - fucking beautiful stuff guys.

(and no, I haven't touched any drugs for many days)
