Couple of things have bugged me a bit about this game, nowhere near enough to stop me playing as I enjoy it, but the stupidity nags at me occasionally.

It's as if some CS players think you're camping when you sit in a spot you know they're going to run to at the start of every round. Some idiot this morning mentions something about me being a camper (it was in French but my username and camper was in there so I doubt he was asking me a question). The reason for this was because on a certain map (de_dust2 to be precise) I knew that EVERY SINGLE ROUND he would run from a certain place, so I tossed in a grenade every round and stood ready for him to rear his stupid head every round so that I could shoot it off. This usually happened in the first 3 seconds. What the fuck am I supposed to do? Go away so he can come through this particular door unhindered and shoot 2 or 3 teammates in the back?

Maybe if newbies learned not to be so predictable every round they might not end up getting capped within 30 seconds of starting the round. Anyhow, I told him to quit being a bitch and shut up and I got kicked, lol. Gotta love admins that censor swearing, except this was a French server and it only cesnored English swearwords, I must have saw "merde" about 50 times.

Why the fuck is it necessary to allow admins to put their own sound effects on the server? I don't need "DOMINATING0rz!!!11" jumping out of the speakers every time I nail more than 1 person in a round.

Even worse was that on a certain German server, the fucking New Order track from Blade could be activated by anyone who typed "Daywalker"... this same server also played a sound effect if you typed "lol"...
What is it about some server admins that seem intent on fucking a game up as much as possible? What happened to customising a server by putting some new maps on there?

And don't tell me not to play on these servers, as soon as I find out that shit like this is set up I tend to jump off after a couple of rounds.


That shit aside, I have to admit that it's great fun to play. Even with that problem where you have to shoot behind someone to kill them,

There are some good servers running a rotation that I've found, I've not played dust more than a handful of times. I've got one server in my favourites that runs office 24/7. That one's great fun

You could always surprise someone that's predictable and show up behind them with a nice knife in the back of the head. Every mod that I've played that happens to be attached to halflife, has had 9/10 servers with whiny little bitches. I was playing a mod non-cs related one time and got a headshot every single kill, why? Cause the fucking guy made it too easy, especially when he ran up the stairs and shoved his head into my gun barrel. Although I got kicked beause I was 'hacking'.

Servers with those sounds are usually shit, including the player who are there. So just find good servers.

Well if that's the case they're disabled only 90% of servers because they're fucking stupid. And it's a carbon copy of UT, I'll believe it when you prove it.

And first blood, again, shockingly similar to UT2003.

I play alot of COD:UO and one thing that really annoys me is the spawning that happens in the game.
There's nothing like killing someone and then have them spawn behind you while you're running away.

In COD I love seeing an enemy squating waiting for someone to approach. That's when I run up behind them and melee them.
Usually I'll run to the front of them and do it.
Or I run up behind them and take a couple shots at them and then melee them when they turn around.

That dominating thing is in HL2DM also.. Damn Mani's Admin mod... Very annoying! And the whine.. let it go.. he's a kid probably I got called a cheater by a german player who was on my team on a public HL2DM server and friendlyfire was off, but he kept trying to kill me.. He say something like "fukin cheter" and I said "We're on the same team" and he replied "no english, german".... FFS!

CS: Source is pretty good, and I don't think that argument of playing with 10yr old stands, because there are so many servers, you can always find at least a dozen to play on that are frequented by mature players. And it's not all camping.

I play on servers where camping is encouraged.. theres Defrender boundrys, so defense dont leave objectives. and offense has to complete objectives..

It's hardly like you can sit somewhere like in Quake and flawlessly snipe the shit out of people because the maps are so small, even if you can manage it for a few rounds you get figured out in the end.

i suggest checking out the TGS and TG servers..
