WASHINGTON -
President Bush assured Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari on Friday "there are not going to be any timetables" for withdrawal of American forces and vowed victory over insurgents attempting to prevent establishment of a democratic government under a new constitution.
Seriously, does he realize there are people out there who would do bad things to him just for saying this? Bad bad things? Does he want to be a right-wing martyr or something?
British people: How do you feel about this, considering we control your Government? (That's not a shot at you, and
we means the pricks pulling the strings of the US government, not the US people.)
Does no one remember the three debates Bush had with Kerry in which Bush not only stated withdrawal plans, but lost horribly on every subject?

Why couldn't this be added to my thread?
I agree with the Senator that I quoted though. We can't just give a timetable because then it becomes a waiting game. The Iraqis are not able to defend themselves and until they can we will have no timetable.

LOL. Because I made a thread about a similar subject days before you even tried, and I'm doing it again with the fresh breaking news, Jack.
We have no business being in Iraq. It isn't our responsibility to rebuild what we broke. It's a nice gesture, but they'll never like us. They'll never love their country until it's something that they will fight for. They're not doing that, and if we build them a nice toy to play with then baby will break the toy and want another.
They weren't brave enough to overthrow their own rulers and apparently most of them didn't want to. That's their problem, so let them deal with it.

The fact that he doesn't have a timetable isn't really breaking news.

...and apparently there's a leaked memo that says the war was totally illegal and they lied about it.
Oh wait, that's nearly as old as this.

I agree with you to a certain extent. We shouldn't have gotten involved at all. But since we did, we better do it right or we wasted our time and our lives.

That kind of thinking is retarded.
We stay: More die.
We leave: Less die.
I think the Iraqi government would far sooner come to some sort of agreement with the insurgents if the US was completely gone. Give me a break, right now the path is obvious:
Bush is going to try his best to destroy the insurgency at any cost of life to the allies. It's Vietnam.

WE didn't start anything. Our
elected officials weren't voted for by
us they were put in by the fucking Supreme Court.
Their agendas are clear. It's not right to stay for that.
