Commandlets? After finishing up with world domination is Microsoft trying to bring back the Mother Earth concept of natural order in the universe and feminizing everything we know? :icon22:

Longhorn isn't going to be out for like 18 months yet. I've never had any issues with XP (bought it after SP1 though, so maybe it used to suck

), so it's always been at least a halfway decent product to me.

I probably wont upgrade for quite some time after it comes out anyways. I'm hoping to rebuild my PC late this year, and that one will probably never get Longhorn. So maybe when I build a new PC in 2008. heh

We really don't need a new Windows yet, but Microsoft's practice of backporting all their new features to XP is strange. Avalon, Aero, Indigo, WinFS (some year), Monad, IE 7 all run or will run on XP and these were supposed to debut on Longhorn.
The only reasons Longhorn is needed is that it will make image deployment much easier with its layered approach to building the OS and people with technology assurance agreements will get their free upgrade.

-let as a suffix simply means small or young
-lette would make it feminine.

I knew someone would bring that up. Who takes care of the 'young'? That's right... women do. Microsoft is set on dethroning man the hunter with woman the child bearer. Child bearing has no place in the masculine dominated world of programming.
