NEW YORK (Reuters) -- The Shinnecock Indian tribe said on Wednesday it was seeking billions of dollars for 150 years of back rent on land it inhabited for 12,000 years in New York state in one of the largest suits of its kind.

While I sympathize with the Native Americans, I think this is utter bullshit. What happened 150 years ago was horrible, and what happened before that was even worse (read: Columbus). But nobody who was directly affected is even alive! Were the casinos not enough?

ALL the land in America was taken from them, not just this part of NY. But why do they pick this bit of land? I think the price tag speaks volumes. All these people want - all these 1/4 indian or 'my uncle's father's father's neighbor was an indian, so I am too' - is money.

They want BACK RENT!!!
