The graphics processors will be equipped with up to 512 MByte memory, support SLI and will be built in an 110nm process by TSMC. There is no reliable information on the potential of the cards at this time. However, manufacturers claim the 7800 will "clearly" outperform the 6800.

Sources mentioned that pricing of 7800 cards should be in line with the 6800 series and come in between $550 and $600 for the GTX model. But the almost traditional short supply of the new generation processors is likely to significantly inflate the price of 7800 cards.

Dunno if that means much to nayone??

11 days til its released tho

They should be cool like ATi and make it the VII800, and when you go to buy the "Seventy-eight Hundred", they all yell at you that it's the, "VEE EYE EYE eight hundred."

As Computex 2005 looms round the corner, some information on Nvidia's next generation GPU codenamed G70 makes it way out of sealed doors. With ATI post-poning the R520 launch to fall, Nvidia is set to steal ths show at Computex this year.

Technical specifications:

110nm process

GPU at 500MHz

24 pipelines

512MB GDDR3 at 1400MHz

There will be a GTX version in place of the regular Ultra model. Early tests yield a 3DMark'05 score of 7800. However this may change as Nvidia might change the final clock speed of the GPU and tweak it further. The card is SLI ready and an AGP version is planned using Nvidia's HSI bridge. Marketing material suggests the Nvidia going with the 7xxx naming scheme. There is no confirmation on the single slot design yet. We will have more information as we get it.

Probably wait 'till this round of cards goes down quite a bit. May buy a new one around the end of this year. Still using my AIW 9200. Working pretty good so far. :smirk:

"Apparently" the R520 scores more than 10000 in 3DMark05, and kicks the G70's ass:

I bet that is with 32 pipelines not 24
They will have to make it with 24 pipelines
because the yeild is so low otherwise

I paid about, what, $350 for my x800, which, unlike the NVIDIA, makes slightly less noise than a B1 bomber

Although given the state of the drivers, for macs there's not much reason to go NVIDIA, ever.

Just as I planned. Now I can pick up some really cheap 6800s for SLI.

Well I already have a 6800GT and I love it, I am with SOAPboy on this one, and am confused by Geebs as my card is a silent one. Alas my card is AGP and I am upgrading to socket-939 and will have to buy a PCI-X card, maybe a new nVIDIA card or maybe the 6800GT prices will drop. Either way I see this as good news for me

You know donny, your writing style seems to have had a sudden and dramatic change. And who is this 'we' you speak of?

Looks sexy
IMO it looks so dull that they had to make a "pretty" grill for the heatsink.

Now this is sexy:

I don't know if it's right to refer to a graphics card as 'sexy'.

Only if it costs less than a crappy used car

The graphics card itself can look like a steaming pile of shit for all I care. It's what it puts out to my monitor that counts to me. Once I buy a graphics card, I rarely see it aside from hitting it with some canned air from time to time, or replacing other parts.
