Not really. Their porn laws are somewhat of an artifact of our occupation post WWII. Their constitution, AFAIK, was created to include a ban on obscenity...partially to appease us...and of course what WE considered illegal obscenity back in the 1940's included depictions of genitalia/penetration. What I find odd is that aside from the pixellation of real penetration, hentai-type things are popular and somewhat mainstream.
