Need to install one of these for an outside area at the house, I also need to be able to control this from my computer. Like move turn the camera left when pressing my left arrow key.

Picture doesn't have to be DVD quality but would like to be able to see what's going on of course. Anyone have much experience here, trying to find a decent price on software/hardware. Any cheap simple web-cams avaliable that you can control from the keyboard?

Can't really find exactly what I'm looking for.

A weatherproof, networked webcam with directional servos?

Unless you're good with electronics, you ARE looking at something expensive.

Does it have to be networkcapable? Just get a camera with an rs232c port, so you can write your own application for controlling the camera with a capturewindow. The Canon VC series will do just fine, although the newer models are pretty expensive.

edit: you'd obviously need a capturecard as well if you'd go with a non-network camera.
