Somebody from Germany help me out

I was in Germany last week (I'm from the States) and while I was there, I thought it'd be a neat experience to see Star Wars in another language, so I went.
In the trailers (holy cow, there were like 30 minutes of trailers, seriously) there was an ultra-cool movie that I didn't quite catch the name of.
It might translate to "the night watchers" but I couldn't find it on IMDB so that might not be it. I'm not sure. Also, a guy I was there with said he might have seen Tim Burton's name in the brief credits that show up immediately after the trailer.
All I can tell you is that it looks like it's a horror film, it's possibly based on a series of books or novels, and whenever there was text in the trailer, in the background there was obviously Russian alphabetic characters.
Do you guys have any idea at all what this movie could be? It looks extremely cool.
