Awesome and subtle. They're impact resistant, so hopefully they'll hold up through some hail storms.

Yeah I love this. To be frank though, I am surprised that it requires Musk's involvement again to get this done. I expected the entire solar panel industry would've been working on tech like this like mad, but I guess they never really gave a damn.

Honestly, I don't think the technology was quite there yet and it took Musk's research and development team to make it happen. But now the other companies can hopefully get something going so we can see some competition and ultimately price reductions...

Actually dumbo, the technology was there and they just applied it, unlike the other moron companies who are just happy to keep everything status quo and keep profiting off a fast growing industry...

What also surprised me somewhat is that this is branded Tesla solar glass and not Solarcity solar glass, while Solarcity is Musk's solar panel enterprise.

Oh that's right. I read Musk tweeting about it. Hadn't realized they would dissolve the Solarcity brand.

That crash-test looks very good!
Anything about pricing? Will the roof be 2x expensive then the rest of the house?
But very nice idea.
