GtkRadiant 1.6.5 builds, new website and Gratipay

[lvlshot]http://icculus.org/gtkradiant/images/logo-radiant.svg[/lvlshot]
We have had a steady stream of fixes coming in from contributors over the last few months, to fix a number of memory errors and bugs across the map compiler (q3map2) and the bot routes compiler (bspc). Several of those fixes also improve the stability and correctness of the tools on 64-bit Linux.

To get an overview of the changes in 1.6.5, please consult the Milestone issues list on GitHub. Latest changes on GtkRadiant and BSPC for more details.

To celebrate, we are rolling out an updated website that Obsidian has put together on the GtkRadiant.com domain, where you can download the latest build.

Last but not least, we are now accepting donations via Gratipay. Please show your love and support to the project!

What's the reason why you didn't go with Paypal to make donations?

I don't know the details of the decision, but Gratipay doesn't take anything off the top the way that Paypal does. Since GtkRadiant is a relatively small project, and not expecting to see anything more than beer money, every bit counts.

I was considering making a donation because I think it's great that people are still dedicated to keeping GtkRadiant (and id Tech level editing in general) alive. I found, however, that with Gratipay you subscribe to a weekly donation, which is not something I'm keen on. I'd like to make a one-time donation, not get stuck to a subscription I'll probably have a hard time getting rid of again and most likely forget about as well.

Hmm, I wasn't aware of this either. Perhaps there needs to be an alternative.

Yea, cause I would like to donate too, I've used this shit for so many years now and even if I don't use 1.6.x I want to support it. But I don't want to do a monthly, cause I tend to forget those things - I've done that before =D

Same here, like Hipshot said.
Also that explains why the project gets $0.05 per week. I already thought that was a strange number to display but couldn't understand it until now.

Has bspc been pulled out of radiant's release? It's not in the main directory where it was for the 4/24/16 build.

That version saved me, since the old 1.6.4 version wouldn't deal with my map after a certain point (ducks).

Still using that version via a .bat file, but I'm scratching my head on this. Redownloaded from the site to be sure, peered in the archive without unzipping: nope nada.

From here: http://icculus.org/gtkradiant/downloads.html#binaries, the Windows version.

I think TTimo forgot to package it in the latest version. You can probably just pop in the .exe from the previous 20160424 build for now. I'll try to get him to repackage and upload.

It says 1.6.5 now has Quake support but when I download it, I can't configure it for Quake. It doesn't show up in the list of supported games and there's no separate gamepack to download because the site claims it's built in.

What gives?

New build! It's still based on the same 1.6.5 milestone but with a bunch of bugfixes and a few new features tossed in from the last 6 months.
It's been too long since we last put a build together! Thanks Pan and several others for contributing many fixes based on compiler warnings.

Infernis, opened an issue for Quake support. Not sure what happened there, either it was removed for some reason or some kind of accidental oversight.

I don't do all that much, mainly website stuff, testing and maintaining a few of the game packs. But good to hear positive feedback.

Micro-update before we start moving onto 1.6.6 milestones:

https://s3.amazonaws.com/gtkradiant/Gtk ... 170820.zip

New GtkRadiant 1.6.5 build available. We think this may be the last one in the 1.6.5 series:

Make CSG subtract and other CSG operations use caulk: https://github.com/TTimo/GtkRadiant/issues/257

Fix bobtoolz brush cleanup dropping patches in func_groups

A bunch more compile warnings fixed (Pan)

Quake 1 support wasn't quite finished so it wasn't officially added into any of the 1.6 builds. I brought it up and we're now taking a look at adding it as a 1.6.6 milestone.
