Shooting in Florida, Fort Myers

Up to 17 people have been shot at a nightclub in the Florida city of Fort Myers, local broadcasters report.
At least one person has been killed, broadcasters say.
Police officers are at the nightclub, which was reportedly hosting a party for teenagers. Victims have not been identified.

San Diego police officer fatally shot, another wounded
A police officer has been shot dead and another wounded during a traffic stop in San Diego, authorities say.
"It is with a very sad heart that we announce the death of one of our officers tonight," the San Diego Police Department said on Twitter.
The officers were shot during a traffic stop at about 11:00pm on Thursday local time in Southcrest, a south-eastern neighbourhood of San Diego, the San Diego Union Tribune reported.

I wouldn't be surprised if the numerous news items about people getting shot desensitizes certain people towards the concept, like shooting someone is something you just do, and that's it. No thought goes into the actual impact it has, the consequences. For some people it's becoming a normal thing to do.

Aye, I think that in cases like that the person has one of those fits of rage where actions and consequences no longer co-exist.
I've seen it happen which is why I'm not surprised someone made the decision to take murder devices away.
