To breaking a number of speed records, including a 78mph record on the wall of death -

He's going for the British land speed record at some point this year too. He was meant to do it around the time of his crash.

They really messed up not giving him the Top Gear job, I think he'd have been great for it. I'd have loved to see the forced subtitles for anyone out the UK to understand him too :D

There is something very British about a guy holding a mug of tea after just breaking a record on his homemade bike.

It would be even more "british" if he'd be holding a fine porcellain floret patterned tea cup with his little finger strutted away. ;)

The Isle of Man TT documentary called Closer to the Edge is fascinating btw, that's what thrust him into public view more than anything else.

Aye it's worth watching

You seen this though ?

Growing up I watched a lot of road racing and the TT is always worth keeping up with but that vid ^ is from the makers of Closer to the Edge and is narrated by Liam Neeson who gives a bit of a William Shatner performance.

It's harsh as fuck, I remember the last race in the vid and I don't think anything in sport has made me grow a man tear before. It should be a movie.
