Obama will have a hell of a time replacing Scalia, I doubt the Republican's will let it happen.
P.S. I actually like Judge Judy, shes tough, talks straight and no bullshit.

Fuck Scalia, I hope he rots in Hell.
Let's see the GOP block Obama's nominations for an entire year.

Scalia wrote:If one assumes, however, that the PGA TOUR has some legal obligation to play classic, Platonic golf — and if one assumes the correctness of all the other wrong turns the Court has made to get to this point — then we Justices must confront what is indeed an awesome responsibility. It has been rendered the solemn duty of the Supreme Court of the United States, laid upon it by Congress in pursuance of the Federal Government’s power “[t]o regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States,” to decide What Is Golf. I am sure that the Framers of the Constitution, aware of the 1457 edict of King James II of Scotland prohibiting golf because it interfered with the practice of archery, fully expected that sooner or later the paths of golf and government, the law and the links, would once again cross, and that the judges of this august Court would some day have to wrestle with that age-old jurisprudential question, for which their years of study in the law have so well prepared them: Is someone riding around a golf course from shot to shot really a golfer? The answer, we learn, is yes. The Court ultimately concludes, and it will henceforth be the Law of the Land, that walking is not a “fundamental” aspect of golf.

xer0s is an avid gun collector and is a closet redneck on this forum. Only makes sense he was a big fan of Scalia.

Whoa whoa whoa, lol. Lots of people salivating at the chance to jump on me about anything.
The fact is, there is no hell. But it's quite the statement to say "he should burn in hell." Shouldn't that statement be reserved for murderers and rapists? I really know nothing of Scalia. But I haven't heard of him touching little boys or anything.
lol again at you guys jumping to religious conclusions. I'm sure I'm just as much a satanist as the rest of you...

It's a figure of speech, I don't believe there's an actual Hell. Glad to know you're worried about me, though.

From what i know he was a GOP extremist, a firebrand idealogue in a crucial position who quite succesfully did his utmost to delay social progression on a host of issues from gun control to abortion to gay marriage (he lost that one in the end).
So yeah, fuck him.

He was the influential 5th GOP vote in a Republican-heavy Supreme Court, meaning his decisions affected all Americans. Nine judges, 4 Dems, 5 GOP. Only one of the GOP judges has a mind of his own and votes based on the law instead of the party, and that's Justice Kennedy. So, let's see here...
1) Scalia voted in Hobby Lobby to allow businesses to refuse customers on the basis of religion (openly used as cover to discriminate against gays). He actually voted against gay rights several times and wrote several dissenting opinions opining for the good 'ol days.
2) His last vote was one to fuck up the Clean Power Plan, delaying implementation until an appeal can be heard, thus dragging out the process.
3) In a 6-3 rarity, he voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Another dissenting opinion was written.
4) Let's not forget that he helped stop the recount of ballots in the 2000 election, sealing the deal for Bush instead of Gore.
5) He upheld Citizens United, which allows corporations to donate however much they want to political campaigns. There are several cases where he voted to tighten voting laws, making it harder for minorities to vote.
6) He wrote a dissent against a ruling to strike down a sodomy ban in in TX. Apparently he was afraid he might get it in the butt if it was legal.
Yeah, fuck that guy.

He wielded power on par with what Presidents have, and used it to set back social progress in America by 30 years.
