Driving? Always be alert to your surroundings.

I don't know about you but one of my pet hates are drivers who invade my comfort zone especially when driving. You know the type. Those drivers who overtake you and drop immediately in front of you causing you to slow down so as to increase the safety distance to that car in front.
You have all no doubt heard of and hopefully apply instinctively the 'three second rule' when motoring down the highways at speed.
I saw this news items and thought I'd share - Driving? Always be alert to your surroundings.

Lucky indeed! I still wonder if the three second spacing would have helped avoid the situation at all.A driver has escaped serious injury after a heavy metal beam fell off a truck, bounced then pierced his BMW X5 SUV's windscreen in San Jose, California.......... he not so much dodged a bullet, but dodged a large beam of metal.....
.......... keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, and to "always be alert to your surroundings".
