Some guy who tried to blow up the British parliament but failed and got caught. They executed him, and now people in Britain celebrate his death. Except in V for Vendetta where he is romanticized as an anarchist/rebel, and also by Anonymous by extension.

Well, elsewhere in the world you can purchase fireworks and enjoy in the celebrations. Here they banned the public sale of fireworks :tear: years ago.

Yes some silly people suffered injuries and burns over the years we had access but really, to prohibit something because some misuse is simply unjust IMO.

I remember so vividly in my childhood years buying firecrackers and playing all sorts of 'games' with them. The fireworks ranged from 'tom thumbs' to 'triple bungers' in the explosive category down to 'sparklers' & roman candles. We can't forget the rocket type fireworks either.

I remember vividly, launching some during the day and horizontal (setup on an old wooden washing trolley/pick below).

Trajectory was low and fast after ignition. I still see the explosive burst when it hit a gum tree maybe 100metres away. It was beautiful :) I think they were called 'starburst' and were something like you see in public (aerial) displays these days.

Some celebrate Halloween and I don't, but I really miss the fun with firecrackers :tear:

Stick firecrackers in your drunken asses and see how badly you get burned... I dunno... isn't that just what you Australians do on weekends?

No and not in the experience of this Australian. That might have happened in the deep south and the injuries are, correctly, were (because fireworks have been banned for years) usually to unsupervised children, some lost fingers.

Another memory I have was making hand grenades. We'd place a bunger in a glass jam jar vertically and around it we'd stuff small gravel tightly. It looked impressive. The test was to light and throw of course and this we did over a large area of water. The effect as you'd imagine, marvelous :)

No butthurt here, if people want to blow themselves up far far away from me, I'm okay with that.

Gone Yank! I don't think so :offended:

That play experience was probably 50 years ago and we lived 'beyond the black stump'.

We all do silly things in childhood; mine long ago, when things were much different in the world. I have an excuse.

Nice seremtan, but is it console edition only? I am not console au fait (familiar) :D

Words are fun :)

Actually, he committed suicide by jumping from the gallows :alert:
On 31 January 1606, Fawkes and three others – Thomas Wintour, Ambrose Rookwood, and Robert Keyes – were dragged (i.e. drawn) from the Tower on wattled hurdles to the Old Palace Yard at Westminster, opposite the building they had attempted to destroy.[54] His fellow plotters were then hanged and quartered. Fawkes was the last to stand on the scaffold. He asked for forgiveness of the King and state, while keeping up his "crosses and idle ceremonies". Weakened by torture and aided by the hangman, Fawkes began to climb the ladder to the noose, but either through jumping to his death or climbing too high so the rope was incorrectly set, he managed to avoid the agony of the latter part of his execution by breaking his neck.[37][55][56] His lifeless body was nevertheless quartered[57] and, as was the custom,[58] his body parts were then distributed to "the four corners of the kingdom", to be displayed as a warning to other would-be traitors.[59]
So he jumped with a noose around his neck in such a way to break his neck. Suicide perhaps by definition, but only just.

not some real cunts like assad, al-baghdadi or a mexican cartel kingpin for example
