Another terrorist attack in France. Hide your wives and children.
A man has been decapitated and several others injured at a factory in France in what President Francois Hollande has called a terrorist attack.
Two men drove into the Air Products gas factory factory near Lyon, officials said, before several explosions were heard.
One of the suspects, a 30-year-old who was known to police, has been arrested.
The dead man was found with Arabic inscriptions on him and an Islamist flag was found near the site.

I agree, that term is thrown around loosely. But this particular case appears to be just that...

Good thing about everyone being labelled a terrorist is that it applies a narrative and association with a marginalised demographic that the majority of people cannot identify with.
If you start calling them "criminals" or suchlike, you increase the chances of someone saying, "oh, I'm one of those..."
I think the media get a hard time for their use of the word 'terrorist'. They're actually doing everyone a huge favour.
Far scarier is the idea that an ordinary criminal is responsible for an atrocity.
