Using the "others are doing it too" defense really does not excuse the fact does it? Also if you're going to use that defense you need to have some kind of proof, saying its is so does not make it so. But sure, lets see how this plays out...

This. Saying we do it cos everyone does is a piss poor excuse especially when based on nothing and holding America (government and agencies) in a positive light because they found out is even worse. These documents would have been seen or available to a shit ton of high rankers and cabinet members across 2 seperate governments especially with the shitstôrm Guantanamo was causing.

People need to be facing hard time over this.

Oh, the good old "but we aren't the only ones doing it" argument. Just because other people are doing horrible things as well doesn't mean it makes it alright for you to do horrible things as well.

No one is saying it's alright for others to do similar things either. It's just that the facts are plain and simple right now: there's proof on the table the CIA did this and there's no proof whatsoever any other country's intelligence agency did similar things. In a world where the rule is still innocent until proven guilty, it's quite alright to be angry at the US over this while not harboring any ill feelings towards other countries for which there is no proof they did similar things.

Seems like I always have to explain my comments because ya'll always jump to conclusions.

I never defended the actions described in the report. But when I see people saying thing like "ffs America", I feel the need to point out, we're not the only ones doing this shit. I shouldn't have to say "that doesn't make it right". That's pretty much implied...
