Yesterday a hacker got into Apple's iCloud storage and got ahold of a ton of celebrity nude pictures, including Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton. Lots of the pictures were very explicit (dicks in mouths) and different celebrities are confirming them and others are denying them as being real. Lots have been confirmed to be fake, but lots are real, too. Over 100 photos were released and apparently there are videos as well. The whole event had been rightfully dubbed The Fappening.

Thanks for explaining "The Fappening" Transient. I heard something on the news but on mention of celebrities I turned off.

Was it a cloud hack? That's what everyone seems to be saying, but I haven't seen where the authorities have actually said that. Any articles that talk about the actual process of the alleged hack?

It's a combination of different stuff.

Even if these services are secure, they are being run by living fleshy humans on their servers, and sometimes people need a reminder.

It would be the sickest shit if one day, all digital correspondences from the past year were published somewhere. Somebody is probably looking at your data anyway, so why give the few a monopoly over information and the power that goes along with it?

Kinda ironic since it'll be used to lessen the grip of other currencies on the world in general. It's almost like she's waging war against tyrannical oppressors in movies as her character and in real life with her tits.

Easy solution is pre-encrypting files before they're stored on the cloud I guess but that's just hassle.

It does seem very suspicious though..
