Yeah, it does suck. His standup comedy was great, his comedic films were alright sometimes, but I particularly liked his dramatic roles. He was obviously a weirdo and apparently a troubled soul. RIP...

Saddened. He wasn't always funny - I felt his schtick got old fast - but you can't deny his influence in standup and the great roles he played in movies.

now we can all watch his stuff on Youtube, most of it for the first time, and rhapsodize about how funny we would have found him if we'd paid more attention to his work when he was alive - the way we did with Rik Mayall
