Google made a game based on Google Maps. You start off with 1000 miles (or 1609 kilometers). You then get a trivia question and you have to point to the right location on the map as the answer (so a very basic example: the question is "what's the capital of Belgium" and you point at Brussels). For every mile or km you're off, you lose a mile/km. When you're out of miles/km the game ends and the number of answered questions is your score. How many questions can you answer?

Hey, that's pretty cool. I got 10 on my first try with some lucky guesswork [13 on my second in just Science & Geography category].

Got 9 on my first try and 17 on the second. And indeed, I got some correct ones due to the hints.

Frustrating when you know the answer but not exactly where it is though.

So basically it's like that geoloccing game I posted like a year ago. But now it's cool cause it's by Google.

Not really. Geoguessr was about basically guessing where a location was based on a Streetview image. SmartyPins is a trivia game, which just feels much less random than Geoguessr. Also, the implementation of SmartyPins is just really slick, which scores Google bonus points.
