Ford, who is reprising his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII, was airlifted to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford after the accident.

The BBC understands he was injured while filming a scene involving a door on the Millennium Falcon, Solo's beloved spaceship.

Heard a couple of days ago it was his ankle and today heard it is his leg.

He won't repair quickly with those old bones Weeks of rehab etc.

I wasn't there when it happened but there was a big announcement and they gathered all the staff on one of the stages to tell us. There are quite a few rumours as to how it actually happened, I think there's the story they're telling the press which they're circulating round the studio to us but then what actually occurred might be quite a big deal with regards to health and safety regulations. This industry is unlike most others because everything is so self contained and unregulated. On Edge of Tomorrow a guy fell out of the dropship and crippled himself on a load of scaffolding because a guard rail on a ramp was removed and he wasn't told. This was about thirteen hours into a sixteen hour shoot schedule and when you're doing those kind of hours every day mistakes happen. No where else you get these kind of risks and these kind of hours. There was also an airborne 25 litre molten plastic barrel of petrol flying through the air on the beach because it wasn't tethered properly. It landed literally a few foot away from a bunch of stuntmen.

It's a pretty big deal when it happens to a principal actor tho, I'm glad he's ok, he's a nice chap.
