The Fair Trade Commission's warning Tuesday to the Japan subsidiary of semiconductor giant Intel Corp. shed light on the various ways Intel dished out huge rebates to computer makers.

Competing fiercely with U.S. rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD), Intel offered discounts to computer companies willing to put Intel's central processing units (CPU) in their products.

i would say they do, for a fact actually.. considering Microwank offered discounts to the systems as well as the emplyee's of MDG computers when i was employed there.. ( i still regret that )

Also, the fact that dell has servers on its side, M$ dosent want Them to pump out linux box's to hard, now do they? :)

They already sell machines with Linux on them, both business workstations and servers.

yes, but consider this.. if a company is "pushing" the Linux box's a little harder beacuse of the lower cost factor..

if i was a rep at microwank i would do anything in my power to make sure this wouldent happen.... get my Drift?
