I never owned a Blackberry in my life, did i miss out?
The whole demographic for Blackberries changed over the years - at first it was a piece of kit for management dudes, the main selling point being always able to receive email. These days the only people i see with Blackberries are poor people and kids. And kids from poor people. I'm thinking this is a pretty insurmountable image problem for Blackberry - once poor people with zits taint your product with their filthy paws it's hard to get rid of the unholy stench.
Speaking of phones, i met someone the other week who was still rocking one of the old model Nokia's. The screen had something like 6 different type of colours and the unit was approximately the size and weight of a small turtle... I suddenly realized it was the first non smartphone user i've come across in a long while. He said it was pretty cool and explained ethusiastically how he only had to charge his phone every 5 days or so and that his keyboard had actual buttons and that this was a good thing - but then his phone beeped and he was saying 'oh excuse me for a minute, i have to delete some texts, my memory is full' and i laughed and laughed.
