Assembly line work takes little skill, but other jobs associated with manufacturing are lacking in the U.S. Think jobs like die makers, mechanical assembly engineers, robotics, electricians, other tradesmen, etc.

This is a PR stunt by Apple to deal with all the bad FoxxConn press. This means when they change their mind and return to using FoxxConn and 15 dollars-per-day poverty wages they can say,"we tried but American workers are greedy...wanting money for food and stuff".
