projection tv probs

Juggie or whoever knows his teevee stuff

I've got a projection tv here that's about a good 5 years (tbh, don't remember when I got it), and now it appears the 'rgb setup' is messed up or unalined or what. Well the colors are fading into each other. Now in the manual it says there is a 'screen adjust' option in the tv menu but when I checked it wasn't there :icon27:, so for them to come and fix it, it would be 90$ just to come here and 75$ for labour (by the hour).

I'm pretty pissed that the tv didn't have the adjust option so now these crooks can get theirs, I would rather not if possible at all. :icon33:

Would it be easy fixing this? In the manual it said this can happen from 'tv movement etc.' so how bad can it be? :paranoid:

Look for the convergence option in the menus. There you can adjust how the 3 (r,g,b) projections overlap, etc.

yes, convergence settings.

At least that's what it's under for my Toshiba.

Fender's got the right idea. if, for some reason, someone's GOT to come out and MANUALLY adjust your set and/or to use the service menu for adjusts, ask them if they're ISF certified. just because they're authorized by a manufacturer, doesn't guarantee this.

Well, I've looked and looked and a convergence option isn't nowhere to be found. The manual says the option should be called 'screen adjust' or something, but like I said that's nowhere to be found either. :tear: This is the first time in the 5 years that it happened, I hope with my bad fucking luck the set dosen't get bumped again and unaling the colors. :icon33: I'm mostly pissed that a setting like this isn't there... and no 'factory defaults' as well. Fucking hell last time I get pos rca. :icon33: :paranoid:

Mine did that. adjusting it in the menu wouldnt help, it was a hardware problem. when i would smack it on the side, it would go back to normal. eventually had to call out some guy to fix it.

now the red tube recently died, and the blue one is leaking.

i emailed a guy i know that does ISF calibrating and he's only done a couple of RCA models but he's not familiar with yours. i tried RCA's site and that model doesn't even show up. i know it's old, but are you sure you have the model number right?
