Lower resolution, lower pixel density, half the RAM, dual core Apple A5 vs. quad core Tegra 3 [at best, comparable performance afaik] .. and a $130 premium over the equivalent Nexus 7.
Not sure what they were going for with that comparison. It's almost like they're highlighting a better product on behalf of Google o_O

This is perfect for someone who likes the Galaxy S3, but wants something smaller.

Their product line is confusing, there isn't a big enough distinction between iPod touch, iPad Mini, iPad 2 16GB (which they still sell) and the iPad 4. It's a mess of too many product lines that all do more or less the same thing. Seems like the same mess that Apple had before Steve Jobs returned to the company, too many similar products that seem to compete with each other and confuses the customer.
I have absolutely no idea why they decided to launch the iPad 4 so soon after they just launched the iPad 3 - didn't they say that the iPad 3 was the best selling tablet to date? Not any more, because they've discontinued it. Seems like people who bought an iPad 3, even at launch, just got raped. Then again, not much difference in specs.
New retina 13" MBP and new iMacs are sexy. Dammit, why did I buy the MacBook Air in August?

They probably needed something new to release just before x-mas shopping season?

how many shares of AAPL should I buy before they hit $1,000 a share? they're worth almost $100 billion more than Microsoft and Google combined. i bet Apple switches from making aluminum hardware to 14k gold after this holiday quarter.

What's some of the new things iPad 4 can do? I haven't seen anything about it. I bet it has a faster CPU and more RAM, but anything else? Also, why are they discontinuing the iPad 3 while continuing the iPad 2?

Correct on the processor etc Eraser and it can't really do anything more than the old one...
Seem's like they have found a sweet spot on price and production costs on the iPad 2, hence keeping it going. "Emerging markets" and all that

i wish they'd stop with the retina nonsense, the way it's implemented now is counterintuitive for the webdev industry

Why? Seems pretty informative to me. It's written in a bit subjective way perhaps, but in the end every review that goes further than listing specs is subjective anyway.

Nope, am not. Problem is though, that once you buy into one platform (bywhich I mean that you actually pay for the apps you use) it's hard to switch. The iPad 3 is a really nice piece of hardware, but with the significant other hogging it all the time I want one for myself. It wouldn't make sense to get an Android alternative and having to get all those apps again.
