There's no voice in the back of your head telling you that this, considering that it is in no way endorsed by Nintendo, is plain old illegal?

going a bit more in-depth, this is actually quite hilarious. Their copyright page notes:

All games playable on this site are assumed to be abandonware or copyleft. This assumption is based on either direct contact with the copyright holder, prior permissions given or general availability of the software.

So according to their logic, if a game is easily downloadable through illegal means, that means it's automatically legal to do so
I'm also pretty sure Nintendo didn't grant them the right to host games like Super Mario Bros 3, considering they're trying to sell that very same game through Wii's Virtual Console service.
