For those of you that don't know who she is, she almost single-handedly started importation of cocaine from Colombia to the US. She was a nasty, greedy, vicious bitch, she had a reputation for killing everyone that crossed her, without fail. She served 19 years in prison in the US and was deported back to Colombia. I assumed she'd been killed years ago, but no, she was still alive.
Cocaine Cowboys is a 2006 documentary about (mostly) her rise to power. Pretty fascinating and brutal stuff.
P.S. Fuck off Stranglershade

Lol?
Griselda got a bad rap,” he said. “We’ve all done things. Don’t judge her from what you hear in the media. I believe the number of murders she’s rumored to have ordered is accurate. At the same time, how many years ago was that? We all make mistakes.

We've all ordered murders. No big deal.

I think as the resident cocaine specialist I can honestly say I never knew her in my club business.

The cocaine trade pioneer, who made her mark by bloodying Miami’s streets, died the same way she was arrested in 1985: with a Bible on her chest.
lol, the most violent people in this world are Christards.

She didn't single-handedly start it, but she did single-handedly ruin it for everyone who was already doing it. There's an amazing documentary called Cocaine Cowboys that goes in depth with interviews with the original people involved.
She was purely evil.
Edit: And I somehow managed to miss the part where you very explicitly mentioned Cocaine Cowboys.

I got the impression that she was one of the first people to move major weight into Miami from Colombia, but it's been a while since I've seen the movie. Have you seen part 2? It's not as interesting, more about this dude that met her while she was locked up and started his own "empire" with her help. It's worth a watch.

Hah, last i heard she moved to Colombia after she got deported, i assumed she started all over again. As i recall she didn't exactly start the cocaine import scene in Miami, but she professionalized it and violently killed everyone that was a competitor. In the end she was so paranoid and greedy she started killing the people she worked with as well, so there'd be no witnesses and less people to pay off, which led to her downfall. Scary lady.
Cocaine Cowboys is a very interesting documentary, as is part two (only slightly less so)

Should probably rewatch some time...
