Tony Scott Killed Himself

He was recently
diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor so he jumped off a bridge on Sunday.
A source has revealed to ABC news that Tony Scott, director of "Top Gun" and "Crimson Tide," was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer.
Scott took his own life on Sunday by jumping off a bridge in Los Angeles, California. At approximately 12:35 p.m., several bystanders alerted the authorities that someone had jumped from Vincent Thomas Bridge spanning San Pedro and Terminal Island in Los Angeles Harbor.
After he released that horrible POS "Unstoppable" I was hoping he'd just go away and let his brother make movies, not kill himself. Very sad for his family, especially in the public way in which he ended it.

never really knew the guy existed but it still sucks. At least he went out like with a bang. Who wants to sit around waiting to die?

Jus seen on BBC news, they're saying unconfirmed reports talk about him having brain cancer and the bridge wasn't far from the docs, wasn't a fan of his but harsh stuff :/

If I were him I'd probably not end it and try to enjoy what I've got left, other people do it all the time when they get the same bad news.
But if I did end it, I wouldn't do it in a spectacular public manner like he did. Something like that must be even more devastating to his family than just a quiet suicide in his home. It's one thing to make the news, it's another when there are news helicopters.

To be honest, if he did go from the docs to the bridge to off himself he is pretty lame. I would at least wait until the effects of the cancer to become too debilitating to enjoy life and that's when I'd do it, if I was going to do something like that.
Of course that would be AFTER my binge drinking partying bank robbing shinanigans.

I loved Top Gun. He made some really good movies, but alot of stinkers as well. I liked some of the effects he did in-camera, but regarding that - and in addition to his dolly-crazy camera work - he didn't know when to dial it back.

I'd definitely get a second opinion. But even then, the guy's loaded and even when the cancer did its thang he could afford the best brain-candy drugs the planet has to offer.
If I was in his shoes I'd have been flying helicopters and driving race cars until I crashed and burned.

it just doesn't hold the same excitement after a while. Rich people seldom dream about doing rich people stuff...that's their natural state to begin with.
to use your own analogy: Sex is like air, it's no big deal till you're not getting any.
So , no I don't imagine him sitting around wanting to do things poor people think are cool.
