Hey everyone, I'm in Hong Kong!

Hong Kong is a chaotic mix of sights, sounds and smells. There is the constant smells of cigarettes, insense, fruit and fish. It's always hot and humid here, weather seems to be always shifting as the clouds roll over the mountains and creeps into the valleys. I'm not sure if I've seen so many people cramped into such a small space as this city. Tip to beat the crowds is to get everywhere early.

I'm renting an apartment in the downtown. Everywhere you look you see apartment buildings reaching up into the sky with overhanging AC units hanging out windows and dripping water down into the streets below. The mountains and elevation changes as you travel throughout the island makes San Fran look like the prairies.

I'll post photos when I can.

FYI, I'll also be visiting Malaysia and Cambodia in the coming weeks.

P.S. I've flown a number of airlines and Cathay Pacific is awesome. They keep handing me food and drinks, decent variety of entertainment and all the stewardesses are smoking.

Hong Kong is definitely on my list of places to visit, make sure you post plenty of photos of your exploits as a Triad foot soldier.

I spent most of the time inside with my curtains closed, tried to do some gardening and lost about a liter of fluid in half an hour.

I think I,ll go outside when it's almost dawn.

On the same island as the airport, I left my suitcase at the bagagge check and took a bus up the mountain to a monastary with a giant bronze Buddah. It was hard shooting since it's high enough in the mountains that the clouds kept rolling in and out to obstruct it in myst. I waited for a while to get this clear shot. Most of my shoots look like a shadow in the mist.

Shots of the street market. This is the Hong Kong version of a supermarket. They have vegetable stalls, fruit stalls, fish markets and butchers with hanging raw mean or barbequed pork and roasted duck.

Took a bus to the very tip of the mountains of the main island and took a few shots of the city below. Hong Kong is a collection of islands and here is the core business districts overlooking the rest of the city.

It's a little hard doing that if I'm the one holding the DSLR (and at the same time trying to keep those short shorts from riding up).
