I really wanted to like BF3, it has great graphics, big terrain maps you can run around in, loads of vehicles to drive around in, but ultimately I think they killed it trying to milk the player of every penny out of their wallet. You start off with shit guns which can't hit a moose from arms length because it jitters like it's strapped to a jackhammer while you're bouncing around in an inflatable castle. You can either work your way up to better guns/accessories (by dying a million times because you have shit guns) or you can spend as much real money as it cost to buy the initial game to buy better ones. Not to mention that if you want to play with your friends, you'll have to buy all the expansion packs too, otherwise everyone just ends up on a totally different map that someone has but someone else doesn't. So to make this game worthwhile, you have to spend 3x the initial cost of the game to make it reasonably fun.
Oh, right... also, Origin is a faggity piece of shit. Just to start the game, you have to launch Origin, launch BF3, which takes you to a web page that you have to log in to, which gives you a link to launch the actual game. That's just completely unnecessary.
In summary, the developers did a good job with the game itself, though I think it's completely ruined by the money hording suits with their hand in your pants, and no they aren't giving you a tug but they'll let you think that's what they're doing so that you have a stupid grin on your face while they can use your money to buy themselves a house full of strippers.

Wow, already? And they still haven't fixed the scope un-zoom bug in BC2, and of course they never will.
I only have BF3 on the 360, and yes it's pretty, but the control licks some SERIOUS dog balls. The lag is bad at times, too, but still nowhere near MW3 levels. I would hope that BF4 will be a significant improvement over 3, but given that it's EA/DICE, I'm not holding my breath.
Don't get me wrong, I still love the franchise (play BC2 every day), I just wish they'd stop making it so...franchise-y. And yes, the tiered weapon unlocks ranks right up there with the worst loads of bullshit ever inflicted on gamers. It's just fucking stupid, even if no one makes money by selling unlock packs.

I think you've played enough with us to know that isnt true. DooMers most used weapon is default assult rifle. Just admit that you're bad and the game is overrun by hackers....

You still need all the upgrades for it though. Starting with iron sights with no stabilizing grips makes trying to kill anything beyond point blank range improbable and of course makes you a sitting duck for anyone with a better gun. Once I started getting those add-ons, it was a bit easier.

I played the Call of Duty: Black Ops demo a while ago and last weeked played the demo for Battlefield: Bad Company (the original). Bad Company was infinitely more enjoyable than Black Ops. I didn't even finish the Black Ops demo, it was such a boring cookie cutter experience.
Not that Bad Company was revolutionary or anything, but it gave me much more freedom to do things my way.

Sounds like two of your three main concerns are related to the players, not the game.

I've been running into a lot of BC2 aimbot faggots lately, it's incredibly irritating.
