Actually, that snap on keyboard is very nice. It's only 3mm thick.

Also, it's good to see a Microsoft product promotion video that has some balls (literally, but mostly figuratively) rather than so-happy-it's-almost-scary families.

Also, this tablet could be pretty awesome because it runs the same software that the desktop Windows 8 runs as well. If it's sufficiently powerful and nicely priced I'm definitely interested. As for the price, speculation is that the pro version will probably cost around 700 - 800. There's also a cheaper RT version that (I think) comes without the keyboard, but that runs Windows RT so it can only run Metro apps, but that should be enough for a tablet I think.

Huh, I came in all ready to hate, but that thing's awesome. They even make a pink keyboard for Geoof.

So other than that, it's like an iPad for men.

Looks like a tablet that will be superior to the iPad but hated by its hordes of cultist faggots and hipsters alike with great envy. Also, a video promoting this thing is likely to upset some Welsh nerd—who can't afford either device—to have a tantrum on a Quake 3 forum. I'm impressed.

lol...so they finally took my advice after all: they've taken a tablet and transformed its form-factor into a netbook, with its keyboard, USB connectivity and all the other good things you can't get in daily use with the iPad.

This is something I'd actually consider buying....if I didn't already own a netbook.

the idea is good, yet they still managed to make it look Microsoft ugly.

that keyboard better not be anything like those cheap roll up keyboards they got out there, cause those things utterly suck balls. There's got to be ample yet solid movement on each keyboard stroke that gives that assurance of "yes you clicked me" . Its an art getting a thin keyboard to feel right under your fingertips, so this one is gonna have alot to prove.

Hold your horses my little fuckaroo, it still runs Windows. That alone can equate to a massive suck factor. The Windows RT version intrigues me, however, since I deal with RT systems on a daily basis. What's funny is that in my world, if you want to run an RT system, the first thing you do is chuck Windows out the door and run Pharlap or VxWorks. :olo:

I woke up this morning with a bad hangover
And my keyboard was missing again.
This happens all the time.
It's detachable.

This comes in handy a lot of the time.
I can leave it home, when I think it's gonna get me in trouble,
or I can rent it out, when I don't need it.
But now and then I go to a party, get drunk,
and the next morning I can't for the life of me
remember what I did with it.
First I looked around my apartment, and I couldn't find it.
So I called up the place where the party was,
they hadn't seen it either.
I asked them to check the medicine cabinet
'cause for some reason I leave it there sometimes
But not this time.
So I told them if it pops up to let me know.
I called a few people who were at the party,
but they were no help either.
I was starting to get desperate.
I really don't like being without my keyboard for too long.
It makes me feel like less of a man,
and I really hate having to sit down every time I take a leak.
After a few hours of searching the house,
and calling everyone I could think of,
I was starting to get very depressed,
so I went to the Kiev, and ate breakfast.
Then, as I walked down Second Avenue towards St. Mark's Place,
where all those people sell used books and other junk on the street,
I saw my keyboard lying on a blanket
next to a broken toaster oven.
Some guy was selling it.
I had to buy it off him.
He wanted twenty-two bucks, but I talked him down to seventeen.
I took it home, washed it off,
and put it back on. I was happy again. Complete.
People sometimes tell me I should get it permanently attached,
but I don't know.
Even though sometimes it's a pain in the ass,
I like having a detachable keyboard.
