Lipotropic & Transport

Anyone had much experience with it? I'm cycling every day & changing my diet to try to accelerate shedding those holiday pounds (yes, many holidays). Figured I'd look into supplements if they'd help. So, any specific things/brands I should be looking for? Any advice is appreciated. :icon14:

Not an expert, but if you take supplements wouldn't that add to the mass?

How far do you ride your bike? sit ups and pushups, plus some cardio is the way to go as far as i can tell
edit: i got a new bike saturday....not anywhere near the bike shape i used to be

Advise: get into the mindset that making travel an effort is fun.
As a result, you'll bike places and walk places instead of driving or taking the bus, and you'll notice results. Instead of sitting on your ass in front of some sort of monitor, be it a TV or computer screen, find a small place on a map that's about 8-10 miles away and bike there. Go all the way and wear your ass out. Use points on the map as goals to reach and just check out. You'll find interesting things around the place you live that you never found before, and you'll trim fat in the process. You'll also have pleanty of tube time for vegging out...

I'm not sure if supplement is the proper term, but it's supposed to aid in fat burning & some other nifty scientific stuff.

I wouldnt rely on supplements and pills to change your metabolism. I'd get out and do what your body naturally needs you to do. Run until you cant run anymore, or bike until your lungs burn. Keep it up and set goals to accomplish in the process. Work yourself not to lose fat, but to go several miles further, or 10 minutes longer than you did previously. Without concentrating on your weight you'll one day notice you've improved quite a bit, and you wont have done it by worrying about weight, but rather by having accomplished new goals.
My whole point is the focus on the weight shouldnt even be part of an exercise plan to improve your fitness. Your body is built to carry you around, and if you can run a marathon just as fast as the other guy, then you're just as fit as he is, regardless of your weight differences. I believe it's the focus on the weight that's the reason why exercise plans fail, or stop being maintained. Sure you have to be conscious of your weight, but not have it be the focus of your exercise plan.

Also the best and healthiest way to lose fat pounds is by watching your diet. If you can keep your total fat intake very low and still exercise regularly, you can lose any amount of weight.
The reason people don't like this approach is that it takes time; there isn't any instant gratification. It might take 3-6 months to lose a seriously noticable amount of weight, but you'll feel better about it afterwards, and you won't be punishing your body with supplements and chemicals.

5'9" ~195lbs
I ran a 10k in the Fall without much trouble, so I'm not hugely out of shape. Just looking to trim a bit, then maybe bulk up a little later depending on a number of things. I was cautious about the lipotropic & transport simply b/c I don't know a lot about it. It's expensive, and I don't want to buy into some snake oil bs. Seems to be legit, but I thought I'd ask anyways.
