could some one either give me instructions on finding and extracting the quake 3 sounds including gun noises foot steps character jumps and taunts etc? if possible maybe a link to a zip download would be awesome. im using them for a project and its super important please help!

In all seriousness, you can open .pk3 files with any zip applicaton like 7zip, WinRAR or Winzip.

go to quake3/baseq3 and open pak0.pk3 with a zip program. extract the sound folder and ya done.

Note: Sounds and other game assets are copyrighted, so depending on what you are doing it's probably illegal, but something tells me that you're going to extract them from your pirated copy of Q3 and redistribute them anyway.

lol i own like 3 copies of quake 3 and have owned more through the years.. i dont understand why i would need the sounds to distribute pirated versions of the game ??? im actually using them for a secret purpose that will be revaled at a later time

I take the point re wary/weary, and yes we don't get that many new people here so wary as in cautious fits well, and yes, we do tend, like this post perhaps, to frighten them off.
