US soldier on a killing spree

Yeah, this'll help improve relations.
An American soldier opened fire on villagers near his base in southern Afghanistan Sunday and killed 16 civilians, according to President Hamid Karzai, who called it an "assassination" and furiously demanded an explanation from Washington. Nine children and three women were among the dead.

The Yahoo article talks about there being more soldiers as well, but from what I've gathered the source of this information and the witness accounts themselves are vague at best. It could easily be that people thought there were multiple soldiers when there was only one.
Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a complete fuckup on the US military's end and they're now trying to do it off as a single person going mental. Either way, it's not good for the situation over there.

At best they're 3/5ths of a person so you're really only looking at 10-11 killed.

RE: being more than 1 person- the ANA (retards though they are) reported seeing the soldier leave his base at 0300 and radioed it in to the US, who did a head count and found him missing. They picked him up as he was coming back.
