The difference is when shit like this happens in Canada, it gets national attention whereas it happens all the time in the US but no one cares anymore.

I don't see anything in the article about him being strip-searched. Goof's integrating his fantasies with facts again. Police are pretty dumb though.

My point was in today's world over-zealousness and overreaction are virtues, something to be encouraged. Daily parroting of this "virtue" by the media doesn't help. Conversely, the opposite, using common sense and thinking things through before doing something reactive and stupid, is not encouraged.
