ive started learning maya. haha i know, about time. so anyway so far ive been doing these tutorials.

Haha... what a coincidence. Just have started to work with Maya, too. Actually it's awesome... but no programm can imitate the great workflow of Radiant!

Well, when we are in maya...

I would like to know if there is some way to render texture of some object to file - texture with lighting of scene. Simply like 3D objects in Quake are with shadows and so on... So if there is way how to export rendered texture in maya on object. I can't express it better, just hope you understand me

Here's a very nice and beginner-friendly tutorial from DXP over at z4 just created at the time you asked for it, fKd, seems I forgot to post it. It teaches you how to create a Resident Evil environment (who would have guessed?

) and render this thing for finally having backgrounds to put back into the Resident Evil game itself. Definitely one of the more user-friendly and funny tutorials:
