Windows 7 thumbnail viewers?

Setting up a new PC and completely forgot that Windows Explorer only has thumbnail view support for a limited number of image formats... What are people using to view TGA, DDS, etc. images? The old 'thumbview' plug-ins ("thumbplug" in particular) don't work for W7. Ideas & suggestions?
MediaFile Assistant (mfa101.exe) seems to work as a separate app to using Windows Explorer.

I'm using
MysticThumbs, works well with .tga and a bunch of other formats in Windows 7. However, does not work with .dds. It used to be freeware, but now it's $25. You can still pick up the free version
here.
If you need .dds, you can use nVidia's
DDS Thumbnail Viewer.

The nVidia DDS plug-in doesn't work for me. If third parties can write apps and plug-ins that do this it makes you wonder what MS are playing at.

on a related note, why oh why did micro$oft decide to omit 'refresh thumbnails' from the context menu? (deleting the contents of the thumbnail cache doesn't refresh)

nVidia plugin works fine for me on Windows 7. Did you hit F5 or do a restart?

Yes, from what I've been reading there seems to be an odd issue with some things on the 64bit version of the OS. I managed to 'fix' the issue in a round-about way by installing a demo version of CorelDraw X5 and associating the images to that app, can see everything now (still needed the DDS plug-in though).

Yup, finally managed to get a few minutes to sort this out. Once SageThumbs was installed I had to 'reset' the default app to QuickTime (disassociate it from Corel PhotoPaint) and that worked fine. Can now see actual thumbnails for TGA (not check DDS as of writing).

DDS should work (unless I misunderstood that), at least they are for me. But I only have ACDSee installed from before (and photoshop then ofc).

Just had a look and yes DDS work (except for idtech normal maps).
