Easy now, I'm getting to the stage where I'm looking at opening my first bar, & I'm starting to put everything together (business plan, decor ideas, drinks list etc...) & I'm looking for some music suggestions, genre is as the title suggests, & bonus points if it's a lengthy remix that I can get from somewhere like soundcloud for free (& legally(?)).
Cheers homos

What kind of bar is it? That will dictate the music choices.
Sports bar?
Club?
Pub?
Tap room?
Trendy?

late night cocktail bar, open 5pm til late. not too big, capacity around 100, aimed at early 20's to early 30's. Think music loud enough to set the mood, but not too loud you can't talk over it, and sure as hell not a club. The music & drink selection will dictate the bar, not the other way around

Semi-agree, but with the city I'm in I need to prey off a younger crowd at a slightly more high-tempo pace, so it doesn't fit. incognito, ronnie jordan etc I think are more for the older crowd, with a more relaxed atmosphere (table service, limited entry etc)...

Okay if this is the sort of thing you're looking for, also check out Bootsy Collins, Funkadelic and Rick James too.

Also Mr. Pink, are you keen on soulful house music? Does this tickle your fancy or not?
