The Great 2011 "Seasons" contest will commence shortly!


This contest is intended for any type of Fan Mission having a clear seasonal element such as weather etc. sun, snow, rain, fog. The best use of the theme "Seasons" is how the missions will be judged.

Because summer is not distinctive visually it is recommended (but not essential) that entries for summer be daylight Fan Missions

There is no size limit.

Contest length: 3 months

As the time-limit implies, we are expecting that missions will be built within the 3 month period as a matter of honor.

Those interested in entering the contest please post below in this thread.
Please state whether you're a maybe or a certain entrant and when you are free to start.
The start date (and thereby the final day for entering) will be 1st March BUT
If we get sufficient entries well before then we shall start early.

Your post doesn't really specify what this contest is all about.
Being a mapping nerd, I assume you want people to produce maps for this mod?
If so, you better post this on the LEM board.

Yes, we are looking for maps. If a mod can move this to the LEM board it would be appreciated (wasn't sure if non-Q3 maps go there).

I tried to get Rage3D on-board for sponsorship but the it was too short-notice for any vendor involvement. (The Dark Mod mapping community didn't want to wait any longer.) I still have an open offer of co-branding the contest. There has been discussion of setting up a Paypal account any pooling wagers so that the winner gets the kitty but nobody has yet offered to set that up... (My wife would kill me LOL...)

Finally, it appears that Fieldmedic has dropped-out in favor of continuing work on his long-term WIP Dark Mod mission project. Though he could still rejoin.

Sotha's mission "Mandrasola" is the first submission for the contest. (The other entrants have until June!)
